Lots of fun stuff.
For Reading she worked on letter M this week. She already knows her letters and most of her sounds, but I still want to continue reinforcing her letter recognition and word association. She matched capital and lowercase letters. She put together puzzles to reinforce the order of the alphabet. And of course she watched "Super Why" on PBS Kids.
For Writing she worked on her tracing skills and strengthened her pincer grasp with play dough and toothpicks. She also practiced cutting. She colored with chalk indoors on black paper. (It's way too hot outside).
Math she practiced counting objects aloud to 20. She gets stuck around 15, so this will also be an ongoing skill. She also worked on one-to-one correspondence while counting.
Finally, in Science she learned about her body: head, eyes, ears, and mouth. We talked about the function of each. She must have been listening because this morning during the thunderstorm she told me she heard the thunder with her ears. We will continue body talk next week as well.
Next week I will intentionally add in music, gross motor, and more math activities. Love, love, school time!
