This week was semi productive. Sweet Pea was in a coloring mood this week, I went with it. One day all she did for school time was color. She had great fun!
As a side note: When doing tot school, remember to follow their lead. Your plans are just that--plans. I hadn't planned on so much coloring during school time, but I'm certainly not going to stop her from flexing her creative muscles.
Reading this week focused on "is" And the letter "P". She enjoyed singing the "is song" we made up. She found the word in the various books we read. She made "is artwork". She also practiced spelling her word by stamping it in Playdough. Perhaps her favorite activity this week was alphabet soup. Who wouldn't love messy water play?
In Math she practiced sorting by one attribute onto a T-chart. She then counted to see which column had more. This is an excellent way to sort as it introduces a note taking skill to be used in the elementary years.
We didn't get to do science or social studies this week, but we did introduce a scripture of the week to go with our letter. "P" is for patient. We talked about being patient with everyone (1 Thess. 5:14). This has been a word we've been using in many circumstances especially since Momma has Sunshine to care for as well. It was good to use scripture to discuss the meaning and be able to apply it daily.
