It was a productive week. She remembered learning "is". I heard her tell her Sunday School teacher the word when she saw it on the color page they were coloring. Sweet! Application.
With that being said, I felt comfortable introducing a new word this week--go. She picked up on it quickly and loved the "go" cheer we did. Our letter of the week was "Q". Themes for the week were Q is for queen, quickly, painting with w-tips, and quiet time with a quilt. The latter became much more than I anticipated.
For math time I assessed her knowledge of number recognition. I created a number book for her to review daily to reinforce this concept. She also traced numbers in her new Sesame Street workbook from Mardel. She also sequenced the numbers 1-11.
I also found some animal lacing cards at Mardel for her to practice fine motor. She enjoyed that. I was also able to put a biz if independent activities together of mastered concepts for review during down time or if momma is trying-to-get-sister-to-nap-time.
The best part of the week was seeing her initiated learning on her own. At one point she sat herself at the table and did school all by herself. I'm always careful not to push school time too much. I don't want her burning out. So I was grateful to see her spending playtime doing school. She equates learning with play...which is what I want.
