Update on Rain: Complications

We have a couple new updates on baby Rain--neither of which are very positive. With recovery from such a serious illness as Pertussis setbacks are expected and are all the more reason to continue to pray for this wee one. She has come so far in her month of hospitalization, so we must not become discouraged at bad news. God has has already done so much here.  He is in control and is able. Please read below and continue to pray for Rain and her parents.

"Rain is stable. The good news is most of the fluid around her lungs is gone. The bad news is they have begun to see calcification in her liver and lungs. In addition, her heart is under a lot of stress right now as it tries to pump blood to her lungs and has started to thicken. This can cause it not to work as well."

Before I could get the above written in the blog, we received this urgent request from Rain's daddy.

"She began bleeding in the cannulas in her neck and tear at her wrist. They have not been able to stop it. She is being sedated and paralyzed to decrease the amount of bleeding. Also, her blood gases have not looked good (perhaps due to the bleeding). When she was awake yesterday she looked as if she was uncomfortable and cried silently. This is something she had not done before, but is doing more frequently now."

Please continue to pray for peace and comfort during this time. Please pray that Rain's lungs will heal. Pray the bleeding will stop.
