Goodbye, Hello

October 20th--a day like any other. This morning people will rise early and go to their respective houses of worship. This morning others will sleep late, weary from the work week. Later, they will gather around the television to watch football or not. Some may use their time to go shopping. It's just a regular Sunday.

But not for out family.

Today marks the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new one.

Today we say goodbye.

Goodbye to friends.
Goodbye to family.
Goodbye to kindred spirits.
Goodbye to familiarity.
Goodbye to employment.
Goodbye comfort-zone.

But with each goodbye there is an opportunity to embrace something new, but only if you are willing to release and mean it when you say, "goodbye."

With this goodbye I look forward to the hello...though I know we are simply and briefly transitioning. I still say hello.

Hello change.
Hello new friends.
Hello new adventures.
Hello uncertainty.

Soon these "hellos" will become goodbyes. But for now, I embrace the future God has for us, I pray He walks with us through this transition, and I say "hello."
